Vergenoeg: the whole mountain, online.
A nature reserve on the Magaliesberg with graded hiking trails, a five-stage enduro MTB network, Cape Vultures on the cliffs, a farm café and Eindelik, a wedding venue under the ridge. The old Wix site showed very little of it. We rebuilt Vergenoeg’s website so visitors see the whole place, and get their answers before they drive out.

01 The brief
Everything on the mountain. Very little of it online.
Vergenoeg is a working farm and nature reserve on the slopes of the Magaliesberg, above the Skeerpoort valley and Hartbeespoort Dam, inside the UNESCO Magaliesberg Biosphere. It started as a favourite of advanced hikers and grew into much more: three graded hiking trails, a five-stage enduro mountain-bike network, a café at the trailhead, events like the Vulture Trailrun, and Eindelik, a wedding venue at the foot of the ridge.
The website hadn’t kept up. The old Wix site squeezed the fees and gate hours into a narrow sidebar, buried the MTB trails in a wall of text, showed “No events at the moment” on its events page and had no page at all for the wedding venue. The brief: show visitors the whole place, answer their questions before they get in the car, and give Eindelik a proper home.

03 The design
Sunset on the ridge, forest green and trail orange.
We built the look from the mountain itself: photography of the ridge at sunset, deep forest-green sections, a warm cream canvas and the bright orange from Vergenoeg’s logo on every button. Big italic serif headlines give it the feel of a field guide, and a drawn ridge line marks the breaks between sections.
Eindelik gets its own look inside the same site. The weddings page swaps the orange for gold and the green for black, so a couple planning their day feels they’ve arrived somewhere different from a hiker checking gate times, without a second website to keep up to date.
04 What we built
Every question answered before the drive out.
Most visitors want to know what it costs, when the gate opens and how to get there. Everyone else came for something specific (the trails, the birds, a wedding date), so each of those gets its own page.
Fees and gate hours up front
Entry fees and gate hours sit right under the homepage hero, with an open-now line so visitors know the gate is open before they leave home.
A proper home for Eindelik
A full weddings page: the setting, the venue at a glance, indoor and outdoor options, a photo carousel, venue-hire prices, four menus and its own enquiry form.
Trails, MTB and birding
Graded hiking trails, the five enduro stages and a birding page with a six-bird spotting board and FAQs, each written for the people who come for it.
Events that lead with the event
The events page puts the next event first, poster and all, with a Register Now button where the old site had an empty list.
The right person, first time
Trail questions go to Victor and wedding enquiries to the weddings team, by WhatsApp, phone, email or the forms, so each enquiry reaches someone who can answer it.
Reviews, WhatsApp and maps
Vergenoeg’s Google reviews on the homepage, a WhatsApp button on every page and directions that open straight in Google Maps.
05 On mobile
The whole mountain in your pocket.
Most visitors look Vergenoeg up on a phone: checking the gate hours on the way out, picking a trail, or sending the weddings page to their partner. On a phone the Enquire button stays in the header, every section stacks for one thumb, the photo galleries and reviews sit in carousels, and WhatsApp is one tap away on every page.
06 The result
A website as big as the place.
Vergenoeg’s website now matches what’s on the mountain. Hikers see the fees, gate hours and trail grades before they drive out. Riders get the enduro stages, birders get the spotting board, and couples get a wedding venue with its prices and menus published, not hidden behind an enquiry.
Every part of the business has a page to send people to, and every page ends in the same place: a WhatsApp message, a call or an enquiry to the right person.
Great Service from the Clevex team. They created 2 beautiful new websites for us with all the necessary integrations we required and going the extra mile everything.
